Agartala, April 6: The Tripura government is attaching maximum importance to turning Tripura into a digital State. The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), for that matter, has already submitted a project report for the digitization of the State within three years.

The new BJP-IPFT coalition government has set a three-year timeframe to turn Tripura into a model State in the country, and digital Tripura is an important component of it.

The project will ensure uninterrupted internet connectivity from the State secretariat to the panchyat level. The project report submitted by the TSC contains information concerning its plans to achieve the digitalization target in the State as well as the jobs avenues that will be created following digitalization.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has asked his officials to examine the project report. “If everything is found to be satisfactory, the authorities concerned will go for further discussion with the TCS officials and take necessary steps to implement the project,” said an official.  The Chief Minister, during his recent visit to Delhi, had a detail discussion about the ambitious project with the Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad. The Union Minister also sanctioned three BPO hubs for Tripura.

In the move for digitalization, the State secretariat is also introducing E-filing system that will help to detect movement of every file.
