Donkamokam, April 16: “We are just like members of one family and so every individual in this area and district should work for the development of this district,” said Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang at a public meet at Rengthama in west Karbi Anglong on Thursday, which was presided over by BRMCC Tarzan Langthasa.

“History shows that people around the world have worked collectively for the development of their country, and for this purpose tolerance is required,” he said.  Regarding Rongkhang Reserve where mostly Garos, along with Karbis, Dimasas and Nepalis have been living for the past six decades, he said that he was interested to provide land pattas to those residing here.

EM D Uphing Maslai attacked BJP for ‘dividing’ the community. “More than 25 churches have been destroyed during the past one year under BJP rule,” he said.

In the meeting, the CEM also distributed mosquito nets to BPL families.  HSDP central committe leader Hemari Engleng along with 76 families from Bithung Rengthama MAC constituency joined the Congress in the same meeting.  In these past two days the CEM also inspected some of the ongoing schemes of the constituency. He was accompanied by Veteriry Board chairman Ditolal Hasnu.
