Trader stabbed to death

 SILCHAR, Oct 10: Unidentified crimils brutally stabbed and killed Sujit Debth (33) while he was sleeping in his shop, a mere 500 meters from his home, in Debipur village near Shibpur under Lakhipur police station on Friday midnight. Sujit was attacked on the neck and stomach with sharp weapons. The victim owned a rice mill, a shoe and grocery shop in the area. He was also the cashier of Durga puja committee of the area. The crimils looted his shop earnings as well as Rs.51,000 he had collected as dotions for the puja.   The incident came to light at around 7 am in the morning when local residents went to his shop and saw his body lying in a pool of blood. Bidhan Debth, elder brother of Sujit, said that after having his dinner, he had gone back to his shop to sleep there. An FIR has been filed by Bidhan Debth in Lakhipur police station. Jayanta Teved, investigating officer of Lakhipur PS, said the body has been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
