Agartala, Jan 6: Worried over indifferent attitude of the Bharatia Jata Party over

forming alliance with the tribal based regiol parties the Indigenous tiolist Party of Twipra has taken an initiative to bring all the local parties in a single platform.

A fil decision in this regard will be taken in the party’s central executives to be held in Agartala on January 17. The party is now having regiol conference in different parts of the state and district leaders will report their outcome in the central executive meeting.

Jagadish Debbarma, general secretary of the INPT, said they want to filise the alliance right now as state assembly election is scheduled to be held in early 2018. Otherwise it will be too late. Apart from two major regiol parties, the INPT and IPFT, there are few smaller tribal based parties like tiol Conference of Tripura, Tripura People’s Party and Tripura Peoples’ Front. It is learnt that INPT leaders has already contacted these smaller parties and got their consent for the unity move. They are also hopeful that the Indigenous People’s Front of Twipra also will realise the reality and agree to join the unity move. The biggest hurdle of the IPFT to come into the same platform in is its demand for a separate state which others don’t agree. But the BJP’s indifferent attitude towards forming alliance has created a different situation and now every party will rethink their position, INPT leaders feel.
