Tribute paid to cultural icon on Shilpi Divas

MARGHERITA, January 17: Assam Bhojpuri Sahitya Sabha will observe its second foundation day on January 19. On Sunday, Assam Bhojpuri Sahitya Sabha, Margherita Regiol Committee organized Shilpi Divas programme at Margherita Hindi High School premises.

The programme began with lighting of the lamp before the portrait Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala by Ajit Singh, president of Assam Bhojpuri Sahitya Sabha. After that floral tribute paid by Ram Prasad Ambedkar, vice-president of Assam Bhojpuri Sahitya Sabha Central Committee and also the president of  Margherita Jourlists’ Association and other members of Assam Bhojpuri Sahitya Sabha, Margherita Regiol Committee.

Ram Prasad Ambedkar in his iugural speech said that Jyoti Prasad Agarwala had made immense contribution in the field of art, literature, music, Assamese film industry and many other fields for the greater Assamese society. Ambedkar emphasized that one should adopt the ideology and principles of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala for the better development of the greater Assamese society. An art competition was also held today among school children. Shiv Kumar Prajapati, Vinod Gourh, Jai Kumar Sah, Kamlesh Kumar Dubey, Om Prakash Sah, Rajesh Gupta and many other members of Assam Bhojpuri Sahitya Sabha, Margherita Regiol Committee helped to make the programme a success.
