Tezpur, Feb 25: In a move to take major initiative to prevent the illegal business of sand, stone, earth, boulder, cane and timber run by a section of politically-motivated unscrupulous people, the new Ranger, Sonitpur Forest (West) division, Debabrata Gogoi seized a number of trucks bearing numbers AS-12-AC-2805, AS-09-AC-0984, AS-12-E-4172, AS-12-E-0546, AS-09-AC-0977, AS-09-C-1706 and two trucks having no numbers and permit, forest department sources said. During the last couple of days, the forest department seized a total of eight vehicles carrying illegal goods during their operation. The desigted officer also proclaimed that in the coming days, operation against illegal activities would continue.
