GAON, May 19: Police of Jhakhalabandha police station led by SP Aravinda Kalita in a special operation, demolished various shelter camps of rhino poachers in the gaon-Karbi Anglong border near Kaziranga tiol Park on the wee hours on Tuesday and apprehended two wanted rhino poachers and seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition. According to the sources, the poachers have been identified as Jhon Thong and Chimon Lakra of Dimapur. Police seized 38 rounds of bullets of AK-47 rifle, 29 rounds bullets of 303 rifle, 21 rounds of bullets of M16 rifle, three pairs of army uniform and also other objectioble materials from the accused. The sources added that both the poachers were involved in rhino poaching in Kaziranga tiol Park since 2007. Police interrogation is on.
