DEMOW, April 20: Under Demow Police Station at Desang Rajabari ohalia Gaon on Tuesday evening, some people alleegdly tortured a woman suspecting her to be a witch.
Pinky Kol (50), wife of Muluka Kol and a resident of Desang Rajabari ohalia Gaon, was allegedly physically tortured. A team of Demow Police reached the village and rescued the woman and took her to Demow Model Hospital for treatment.
According to sources, Numal Kol of ohalia Gaon used to work as a priest. Pinky Kol used to go to Numal Kol’s place frequently for puja. On Tuesday, some people, suspecting her to be a witch, locked her in a room and started torturing her, despite Numal Kol warning them not to indulge in such activity.
The Demow Police is investigating the case.
