Workshop on skill development held

GUWAHATI, Aug 26: A one-day workshop on skill development on Mobile App of Solar Energy organized by the Regiol Office, Ministry of New and Renewed Energy (MNRE) and tiol Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) in collaboration with EDC, cell, Cotton College was held here on Wednesday.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. DR Das, Advisor (North East) MNRE, and Dr Abhijit Bordoloi, EDC, Cotton College, and MS Swati Agariya and Rahul Pachauri, Faculty of the NISE, Gurgaon of the Ministry imparting detail trainings on Mobile Application on Solar Energy Technician and Sauriyamitras for designing a network of technicians and specialists on Solar Energy Projects for installations, maintence and repairing and testing of various Solar Energy Projects in Assam and North East.

Speaking in the Iugural session, Nirada Devi, Principal, Cotton College expressed her willingness to promote Solar Energy Projects in the Cotton College, Guwahati in a big way.

DR Das has assured all help in installation of the Solar Projects totaling 1 Mega Watt of power in the college campus. There is a proposal to promote 1, 00,000 Solar technicians and specialists in the country to achieve a target of 1, 00,000 M.W. of Solar Power in the country by 2022. In Assam target is 843 M.W. of Roof-top Solar Power Plants by the year 2022, a press release said.
