World Health Day observed in Guwahati

 Guwahati, April 7: On the occasion of World Health Day, GNRC Hospitals reiterated its commitment towards achieving 'Health For All', as envisioned by United tions' Sustaible Development Goals 2015. The theme for this year's World Health Day is Universal Health Coverage. Dr Nomal Chandra Borah, Founder, GNRC Hospitals highlighted its importance in a developing country like India. He also revealed the economic and social impact of the various free and discounted schemes provided by GNRC Hospitals. 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Borah, said: "World Health Day is observed to increase awareness among general public about the need to adopt preventive healthcare measures in order to stay fit and healthy. It is also a well known fact that healthy population is crucial for sustained economic growth of a country….While awareness about healthcare services is important, at the same time, access to healthcare services should also be provided." He pointed out that at least half of the world's population do not have full coverage of essential health services, while pointing out that there is a misbalance in the availability of healthcare services.
