World Malaria Day observed

NAMRUP, April 27: Along with the other parts of the world, the Naharani Block PHC in association with Sub-Health Centre, Hapjan observed World Malaria Day at Namrup and Abhayapur  LP School recently. Synchronizing with the current year theme ‘Ready to Beat Malaria’, the day was observed to enlighten people about malaria and also to ensure community support to fight against this preventable treatable disease.

The programme commenced with a large awareness rally by the Asha workers, ANMs, students of BVFC HS School along with health staff and officials of Namrup, Naharani and Hapjan health centers. The rally was flagged off by Dr Biswajit Baruah, SDM & HO, Naharani BPHC. Besides, to mark the occasion an awareness-cum-open session was organized at Abhayapur LP School. Dr Biswajit Baruah explained the significance and objective of the day. Dr Baruah also informed the people about several signs and symptoms of malaria along with its prevention and treatment.
