2nd and last COVID-19 patient released: Tripura CM

GUWAHATI: Tripura has released its last coronavirus patient. The patient thanked the doctors and medical staff for the support. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb had twitted on this.

Few more activities have been freed from lockdown restrictions as Tripura emerged as a corona-free State and there is no identified hotspot in the State. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a message said the second coronavirus positive case has also been tested negative and the State is now free from coronavirus.

The second coronavirus positive case was identified on April 10 and it was found that he travelled in the same train with the first coronavirus case. Dr Deep Debbarma, State Surveillance Officer, said he has been tested negative but they will have another test before releasing him. A Rapid Antibody Test also has been initiated.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumer citing guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said the relaxation given by the Ministry of Home Affairs will be applicable in the entire State barring three containment zones where coronavirus positive cases stayed.

The new activities which came under relaxation since Thursday following the notification includes shops of rod, cements and other materials for construction activities, shops of raw materials used in various industrial units, charcoal and other fuels used in brick kilns, various repairing shops including motor vehicles, saloon, laundry, carpenter, potteries, electrical equipments, agricultural equipments, etc. In addition to these, day labourers, domestic help, etc., also will come under the purview of the relaxation.
