ITANAGAR: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union has served a 10-day ultimatum to the state government for the implementation of transfer orders issued to clerical staff of the Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE). According to reports, the union served the ultimatum after some employees were reportedly not implementing transfer orders issued over 12 weeks ago.
In a formal representation to the chief secretary, AAPSU brought to attention that a transfer order affecting almost 40 staff members was issued by the commissioner of education on January 17. However, many of them have reportedly been resisting the shift from their positions and have attributed their defiance as a result of political backing.
AAPSU also urged attention to the situation, saying, "It is really disturbing that despite clear instructions given in the transfer order, many staff members are not willing to obey it, instead they are using their political support to stay put in the Directorate". The union stated that such actions not only violate government orders but also hamper the proper implementation of education policies aimed at helping students in the state.
The AAPSU has asked the government to exercise disciplinary action against the staff and send them on suspension for those deliberately disobeying the transfer orders. The union is not compromising on its stance and has demanded that the government implement its directive to ensure normal functioning of the education system.
