ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) organized “Satyagraha” against the disqualification of former National President AICC and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi at Rajiv Bhavan on Sunday.
Speaking to the media, Former Chief Minister and incumbent MLA-cum-President-APCC Nabam Tuki said that targeting a Congress leader just because he has raised his voice against corruption in the BJP is condemnable. Moreover, this Satyagraha is not just about the Congress or Rahul Gandhi but about Indian democracy; there should be equal justice for all, added Tuki.
The election is near, and Rahul Gandhi is tough opposition against BJP, and to shun the voice of Congress, BJP is targeting our leader, he added. Former Minister Tanga Byaling also questioned the BJP government for targeting Congress leaders. There are many cases pending against many leaders but no action to date, said Byaling. “But the BJP is targeting only Congress leaders.
The “Satyagraha” is being held after Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha, a day after a court in Gujarat’s Surat convicted him in a 2019 defamation case.
