Arunachal: Chimpu Police Solve Handbag Theft Case, Arrest Two Suspects Within 72 Hours

During the arrest operation, law enforcement successfully recovered the stolen motorcycle used in the crime, along with the victim’s handbag and mobile phone.

CHIMPU: In a significant operation, the Chimpu Police have successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of a theft that occurred on February 18, at Gohpur Tinali, Chimpu. The incident was reported by Yajar Cheri, who detailed the loss of her handbag, which contained a significant amount of cash, a gold chain, ATM cards, and a mobile phone, all stolen from her parked scooty.

A major breakthrough in the investigation came with the analysis of CCTV footage from the vicinity of the crime scene. This footage provided crucial leads, enabling the police to identify the primary suspect, Gollo Tara. Following this breakthrough, a coordinated effort led to the swift apprehension of Gollo Tara and his accomplice, Nabam Sakap.

During the arrest operation, law enforcement successfully recovered the stolen motorcycle used in the crime, along with the victim’s handbag and mobile phone. The two accused have confessed to their involvement in the theft and have subsequently been remanded to judicial custody at the District Jail.

The successful operation was executed under the leadership of Inspector N. Nishant, the Officer-in-Charge of Chimpu Police Station, with the crucial investigative work carried out by ASI Manish Kumar.

Superintendent of Police, Itanagar ICR, Rohit Rajbir Singh, IPS, commended the team for their swift and efficient action, which resulted in the resolution of the case within 72 hours.
