Arunachal CM Khandu, Governor discuss security, border development

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik on Friday held an in-depth discussion at Raj Bhavan here, focusing on security concerns, border area development, digital governance, and youth empowerment in the state. A key highlight of the discussion was the recent approval of the vibrant village programme along the Indo-Myanmar border.

Khandu called on the governor to discuss various issues pertaining to the state.

Parnaik lauded the Centre’s move, expressing optimism that approval of the vibrant village programme along the Indo-Myanmar border will significantly uplift remote frontier communities by enhancing infrastructure, creating economic opportunities, and improving the quality of life for border residents.

The chief minister and the governor reiterated their shared commitment to a secure, prosperous, and digitally empowered Arunachal Pradesh.

As part of this vision, they reviewed the state’s digital transformation progress.

Parnaik stressed the importance of integrating all government schemes and services into a unified digital platform to boost transparency, monitoring, and service delivery. He also advocated for the digitisation of official records and Raj Bhawan initiatives to strengthen institutional continuity and public accountability.

The leaders further discussed strategies to empower the youth through targeted skill development programmes, entrepreneurship, and self-employment opportunities. They also explored avenues to promote tourism and adventure sports, recognising the potential of the state’s youth to contribute to economic growth and showcase the state’s natural beauty.
