ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, while addressing the Independence Day celebration at Pali Vidyapeeth Ground at Chongkham, in Namsai district, paid tribute to India’s freedom fighters and Arunachal’s unsung heroes and urged every citizen to contribute towards building a strong and developed Arunachal Pradesh. “I salute the brave soldiers for guarding the nation in harshest weather conditions, farmers for feeding us, teachers for shaping young minds, doctors and nurses for saving lives, engineers and workers for building infrastructure, and every citizen whose work strengthens Arunachal Pradesh and the Nation,” Mein said in his address. Highlighting India’s achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mein said the country’s emergence as the fourth-largest economy in the world reflects the collective resolve to achieve Viksit Bharat by 2047. He went on to detail the state’s progress, citing its recognition as a front runner state in the SDG India Index 2023–24, 100% adjusted net enrollment in elementary education, and being ranked the best-performing state in maintaining law and order by India Today.
