Arunachal: GoAP Appoints Guardian Ministers; CM Pema Khandu, Minister Balo Raja Lead District Development Initiatives

GoAP appoints guardian ministers; CM Pema Khandu and Housing Minister Balo Raja oversee district schemes with HoDs, MLAs; city surveillance project launched in Aalo township.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced that there would be guardian ministers and mentor secretaries for each district to take care of local issues and monitor the implementation of government schemes.

He said this during a review meeting in West Siang, accompanied by Urban Development and Housing Minister Balo Raja.

The CM announced plans for a state-level meeting on January 16-17 with district commissioners (DCs), guardian ministers, and secretaries to develop comprehensive plans, ensuring that the performance of each district is evaluated. In addition, he said that the cabinet meetings will be conducted in different districts from now onwards for better accessibility to governance.

West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage presented the progress of 11 key projects, noting that most were on track for completion by 2025, except for a few delays. The DC also detailed initiatives aimed at the beautification of Aalo township. 

During the event, CM Khandu inaugurated a city surveillance project, equipping Aalo Township with 10 strategically placed CCTV cameras to be used for ensuring security. This project was given over to the SSP/DIGP Aalo for operational management.

West Siang, Leparada, and Shi-Yomi districts' Guardian Minister Balo Raja called upon district administrations, HoDs, and MLAs to join hands for the development of the region. Raja also announced that he would be meeting the DCs, SPs, HoDs, and MLAs falling under his jurisdiction to monitor the progress of the projects.

Participants from the meeting were MLAs Topin Ete, Pesi Jilen, and Nyabi Jini Dirchi along with other officials such as ADC Tamo Riba, ZPC Tumpe Ete, and Assistant Commissioner Prince Kumar. The collaborative effort emphasized enhanced governance and district-level planning.
