ITANAGAR: In a significant move to boost tourism in Arunachal Pradesh, Governor KT Parnaik unveiled the ‘Rise and Shine Arunachal Pradesh-2025’ calendar on Saturday evening.
The event, attended by Tourism Minister PD Sona and Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia, was organized by the state’s tourism department in collaboration with the Miss India Organisation and the Times Group.
The calendar showcases the awe-inspiring scenery and cultural wealth of Arunachal Pradesh. Every month is accompanied by striking photographs of the state's beauty with Femina Miss India winners.
Governor Parnaik stated that Arunachal has tremendous scope to become one of the world's leading tourist destinations. He appealed for cooperation between the government, local communities, and tourism agencies to make this a reality while safeguarding the state's distinctive heritage.
Tourism Minister Sona said, "The mantra of tourism is hospitality, not hostility." He further expressed optimism that the calendar would create a powerful platform to showcase Arunachal Pradesh to the world. The breathtaking landscape would be shown as well as its vibrant culture.
Secretary to the Tourism department Ranphoa Ngowa termed the calendar a visual journey which encapsulates the essence of Arunachal Pradesh inviting the world to its unmatched beauty and warm hospitality. 'Rise' marks Arunachal's periodic embrace of the sun. At the same time, 'Shine' underlines the glowing achievements of Femina Miss India winners. Together, 'Rise and Shine' is a tribute to Arunachal's rich treasury of beauty and culture, as well as India's promising future.
