Arunachal: Husband-Wife Duo Arrested For Kidnapping Minor Girl

A husband-wife duo has been taken into custody for the abduction of a young girl in a joint operation conducted by Naharlagun and Assam police.

NAHARLAGUN: A husband-wife duo has been taken into custody for the abduction of a young girl in a joint operation conducted by Naharlagun and Assam police. The girl was saved in Naharlagun after being abducted from Assam. This was notified by ICR Naharlagun's Superintendent of Police, Mihin Gambo.

An 11-year-old girl from the A-Sector of Naharlagun was safely rescued on November 30, 2024, thanks to a joint effort between the Naharlagun and Assam police. In Assam, the case was filed under Khatkati PS Case No. 127/24. The girl was abducted from Khatkati, Assam last month.

The two accused, a 45-year-old man named Mr. Bheta Chakma and his wife, Mrs. Menaki Chakma, were captured by the police team in Naharlagun on December 2, 2024. They are both residents of Karbi Anglong, Assam.

Both the rescued girl and the arrested suspects have been turned over to the Assam Police for additional legal proceedings.
