ITANAGAR: The Nocte Students’ Union (NSU) has submitted a representation to the deputy director of school education (DDSE) of Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, urging that no subject teachers be transferred or released without suitable replacements.

The NSU highlighted concerns over the shortage of subject teachers in the district, especially following the retirement of experienced educators. They stressed that releasing teachers without appointing relievers would worsen the educational challenges faced by students in the district.

The union emphasized that teachers posted from other districts should not be transferred or released without proper replacements.

Upon receiving the representation from NSU president Wangjen Bangsia, DDSE K C Lowangcha, acknowledging the teacher shortage, assured that no teacher would be released unless a replacement had been posted and joined their designated position in the district.

However, she clarified that transfer-posting within the district may be carried out to balance subject-wise or school-wise staffing, with or without relievers, depending on school categories.

She also commended NSU leaders for their proactive concern about the district’s educational needs.
