ITANAGAR: During the two-day Sashakt Arunachal Conference at Itanagar, Chief Minister Pema Khandu spoke to all Deputy Commissioners in the state to meet the challenge rather than evading it. Concluding, Khandu said, "We need to find solutions and move forward." Here, the potential of human intellect was hinted at, and it is expected from DCs that they should start working more smartly.

Khandu appreciated the active participation of the DCs and encouraged them to adopt best practices shared during the technical sessions of the conference. He assured that all presentations would be disseminated among the DCs for further implementation in their districts.

The Chief Minister announced a new initiative to assess each district's contribution to the state's revenue collection, observing a positive trend in revenue generation. He appealed to the DCs to evaluate their districts' performance and implement necessary measures to enhance contributions. A detailed report on each district's revenue status will soon be shared with the DCs.

To rationalize infrastructure development, Khandu suggested that every non-engineering department be given a working department to take care of projects related to the department. He also said reforms in the education sector are nearing completion and would soon be placed before the Cabinet.

The conference aimed at six thematic areas in respect of improving governance and development:  Sundar Arunachal, Samridh Arunachal, Shikshit Arunachal, Swasth Arunachal, Surakshit Arunachal and Swachch Arunachal. Khandu appealed to the DCs to plan district-level meetings and project outcomes discussed at the conference.
