ITANAGAR: In a key step toward structured urban development, the Boleng Planning Authority in Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, convened a crucial meeting on Friday under the leadership of deputy commissioner P N Thungon, who also serves as the authority’s chairman.
The meeting centred on two major objectives - the demarcation of the local planning area (LPA) and the creation of a GIS-based master plan for Boleng, the district headquarters.
The initiative is designed to lay the foundation for systematic, sustainable, and technology-driven urban planning in the region.
All designated members of the Planning Authority participated in the session, engaging in in-depth discussions to ensure an inclusive and forward-looking planning process.
The DC stressed the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure that the master plan aligns with Boleng’s future growth aspirations and infrastructure requirements. He underscored the transformative potential of GIS technology in improving accuracy, transparency, and overall efficiency in urban governance.
