Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra to grace Rajiv Gandhi University's 40th foundation day

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra will grace the 40th foundation day of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), the lone central university of the state, on February 4.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra will grace the 40th foundation day of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), the lone central university of the state, on February 4. The varsity is entering into its fourth decade of existence completing 39 glorious years of serving the state by producing many intellectual minds in all spheres of the society.

Being the most sought-after place of higher learning in the state, the university has graciously dedicated the last many years to the various expectations of its students, their parents and all the stakeholders.

The foundation stone for RGU (then Arunachal University) was laid by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on February 4, 1984. The university, which started with only three departments, 49 students and 18 faculty members, was converted into a Central University on April 9, 2007.

In the run up to the grand celebrations, many other programmes are also being conducted. In sports, volleyball matches, football matches, badminton competition, shooting competition, tug of war are being held in the university campus. In literary competitions, essay writing, poems compositions and rangoli making are being conducted in the university campus.
