Arunachal Pradesh Health Minister Calls for Improving 108 Ambulance Services

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Health & Family Welfare Minister Biyuram Wahge has urged the service provider of 108 emergency response ambulance services, EMRI Green Health Services, to improve their services in the state.

The minister while taking stock of the operation of 108 ambulance services during a meeting here, emphasized on the importance of providing free ambulance services to even the last person, considering the remoteness and tough terrain of the state.

He called upon the representatives of 108 ERAS service provider EMRI GHS to use their experience and expertise to improve their services in the north-eastern state, an official communiqué informed here.

The minister strongly conveyed in the meeting that stringent action including immediate termination from services will be taken against any of the employees of 108 ambulances found to be in negligence of duty or indulging in any unlawful activity.

National Operation Head, Emergency Medical Response Institute Green Health Services I (EMRI GHS), Deepankar Choudhury informed that fitness of the employees of the fleet of 108 ambulance services is very important. Hence, all employees of EMRI GHS will undergo thorough medical check every 6 months on regular interval, reports of which shall be shared with the State Health Department.

Wahge informed that the government has resolved to provide the best of best medical care services to every citizen even to those in the remotest areas of the state, and in this endeavour has partnered with EMRIGHS to provide 108 free emergency ambulance services. The 108 ERAS under EMRI GHSS has provided free ambulance services to 24,000 patients since its launch in June 2021, out of which 243 deliveries were conducted inside the 108 ambulances by the emergency medical technician.
