NAHARLAGUN: The Naharlagun police have registered two separate cases related to alleged irregularities during the preliminary Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination, which was conducted on Sunday.

In the first incident, a mobile phone was discovered in the possession of a candidate with disabilities (PwD), identified as Mudang Yabyang, at the Kendriya Vidyalaya examination centre in C-Sector, Naharlagun. The centre superintendent reported the matter to the police, following which the mobile phone was seized as evidence.

According to Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo, the candidate's statement was recorded while Yabyang was sent away with a direction for further cooperation in the investigation.

Addressing the issue, Yabyang explained that the incident occurred unintentionally. "I accidentally carried my phone into the exam hall in a hurry, but I voluntarily submitted it to the invigilator before the exam began. I was assured this would not be a major issue as I had not used the phone to cheat," Yabyang told NewsFy.

She expressed her disappointment by saying, "I did not expect my name to be made public before the investigation concluded, especially when I did not commit any wrongdoing.

In the second case, FIR was lodged against Binam Teng after an OMR sheet belonging to him was found missing from the Government Higher Secondary School in G-Sector, Naharlagun. Police investigations established that he had taken the sheet home unknowingly. The OMR sheet was recovered from him later on.  SP Gambo said that investigations are in progress in both cases.
