ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday informed that the government will introduce chapters on unsung heroes of the state, in school syllabus.
Addressing the Statehood Day, the chief minister said that the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, conceptualized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, provided a platform to honour the unsung heroes of the state, who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom movement. “We have prepared a report on all unsung heroes of the state after extensive research and field works, which was released today. Based on the history of the freedom fighters, we will soon introduced chapters on school syllabus on their contribution to the country’s freedom fight,” Khandu said.
Terming Arunachal as the north east of NE states, the Chief Minister said that the State is developing for which the region is also developing. “Earlier northeast was a neglected region. But in the past eight and half years, the Modi government at the Centre brought lot of developments in terms of connectivity and other social sectors,” he pointed out and added that the dynamics of the region is different from rest of the country with various tribes inhabiting with diverse culture. The chief minister said, every challenge in connectivity sector in the state has been addressed by Modi.
“Arunachal Pradesh is a potential state and our government is working on several key policies and programmes to benefit our young generations,” he said adding, with the ‘Team Arunachal’ spirit, the government would able to take the state to a newer dimension of development.
Speaking on the occasion, state Governor Lt General (Retd) Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik highlighted the development in the border areas for which the state witnessed reverse migration.
“Connectivity in border areas are going on in fast pace. We have identified five villages in border areas to develop as model villages under the Centre’s Vibrant Village programme,” the governor said. Let General Parnaik also lauded the state government development initiatives which, he said, would have impact in the country’s development.
