Itanagar: In a bid to boost disaster preparedness and test emergency response systems, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Friday, conducted a comprehensive mock exercise on earthquake preparedness at Ziro in Lower Subansiri district. The drill, held in collaboration with fire & emergency services under the state disaster management department, aimed to enhance inter-agency coordination and public awareness. The exercise featured live demonstrations of evacuation techniques, fire suppression, triage and first-aid, and search-and-rescue operations. Emergency helpline numbers were shared with participants during the drill. SDRF additional SP Moyir Basar, said the mock drills are part of a larger initiative to familiarise people with standard operating procedures during disasters.
