Arunachal: Two Drug Traffickers With 150.70 Grams Of Heroin Arrested At Banderdewa Check Gate

Banderdewa Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized 150.70 grams of heroin during a routine check. Investigations are ongoing to trace the drug source and disrupt the supply chain.

ITANAGAR: Banderdewa Police arrested two persons involved in drug peddling and seized 150.70 grams of heroin during a routine check at the Banderdewa check gate on February 24, 2025. The operation was carried out after receiving credible information from the police.

A team of personnel, led by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) S.K. Tiwari, ASI S.K. Jha, Head Constable T. Bomdom, Head Constable P. Guna, and members of the 138 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), carried out the operation. The suspects were identified as Chiging Arjun (25) from Dutta Village, Ziro, and Gyati Tagiang (23) of Hari Village, Ziro.

In the course of the search which was conducted in the presence of Inspector Kipa Hamak, Officer-in-Charge of Banderdewa Police Station, and independent witnesses, 23 vials of a substance suspected to be heroin were found by the authorities. The weight of the recovered drugs, including the vials, was 150.70 grams.

A case was registered at Banderdewa Police Station under FIR No. BDW/PS Case No. 20/2025, Section 21(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Probe is underway to determine the source of the drugs as well as to destroy the local drug supply chain.
