COVID-19 positive man in Arunachal Pradesh found negative after the third test

Itanagar: The swab sample of the lone COVID-19 positive man in Arunachal Pradesh was found to be negative after the third test which was conducted at the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) at Dibrugarh in Assam on Tuesday, a senior district health officer informed here on Wednesday.

The man from Medo village in Lohit district who was tested positive on April 1 and 7 was found negative in the third test, District Medical Officer (DMO) Dr S Chai Pul informed.

“The patient is gradually improving as his third test came negative. We have collected another sample of him today within 24 hours of his last test as per protocol, and will be send to RMRC tomorrow for the final test,” Dr Pul informed.

She added that the result of the sample was found positive during the second test conducted on April 7 with significantly decreasing viral load found.

“A 12-member team of doctors including other healthcare workers are looking after the patient on regular basis,” the DMO said.

The patient is as of now asymptomatic and is reported to be without any physical discomfort. He is being given regular counselling, Dr Pul added.

Lohit is the only district in the State to register a positive case with one migrant man from Medo Village who had attended the religious congregation at Delhi’ Nizamuddin in March this year.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu in a tweet said that the first positive case of the State has tested negative after conducting the third test.
