ITANAGAR: Department of Economics, Dera Natung Government College (DNGC), Itanagar will be organizing a two day national seminar on “Act East through Northeast: India’s way to new era of diplomacy” DNGC principal Dr. NT Rikam said while addressing the reporters here at press club on Wednesday. Rikam also said that the seminar is organized in collaboration with the Jadavpur Association of International Relations (JAIR), Kolkata and supported by Policy Planning and Research Division (PPRD), of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi.
He informed that the two day seminar will institute from November 15 to November 16, 2018 where 100 academicians from different streams from outside and within the state will be taking part in the seminar at the Jubilee Hall of DNGC, Itanagar.
General Secretary, JAIR, Dr Iman Kalyan Lahiri (Prof at Jadavpur University) informed that this is the 9th seminar organized by the JAIR and hoping that the seminar will yield good outcome.
He said that JAIR formed in the year 2007-2008 has organized such conference at various parts of northeast like, Manipur, Shillong, Mizoram, Assam and Arunachal being the fifth state.
“Every scholar taking part in the seminar will have their own report on the topic and the report will be submitted to the MEA. Besides the individual papers will also be published in various local as well as national dailies,” he added.
