Guardians want students to wear traditional attire

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Private Schools and Children Welfare Association (APPS&CWA) has said that every school should encourage 'vocal for local' by ensuring wearing of traditional dress once in a week for the session 2022-23.

Addressing mediapersons at the press club on Thursday, APPS&CWA vice-president Tarh Jhony said that a general body meeting was held at Lekhi village on February 6, where representatives of more than 180 schools from the entire State were present.

He said that along with the mandatory wearing of traditional dress once a week, numerous resolution was also adopted concerning the schools, staff and students.

"All private schools will be following same academic schedules. However, there will be exceptions for schools in the wintry districts and the normal area," he said, also informing that the Non-APST students shall also wear own traditional dresses every Monday in a week, like the rest of the students from the State.

He said that literary and sports activities to be conducted annually at State and district level. The primary activity will be conducted by the Delhi Public School (DPS), Jollang.

The association shall also identify the non-registered schools.

Coaching centres running parallel to schools should be closed immediately and the teachers should obtain NOC prior to shifting to other schools. The association shall pursue matter of closure of illegal schools running in the State with Government he said. "The association also decided to discuss matter relating to mid-day meal, uniform, Government grant aid and 25% free education in the next general body meet," he said.
