Indigenous Faith Day (IFD) 2019 Celebrated in Tezu

TEZU: The Indigenous Faith Day (IFD) 2019 was celebrated with fanfare at the Jubilee Ground near here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Tezu legislator Karikho Kri extended his greetings to all the indigenous tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. He also called for preserving one’s culture and identity. Stating that “Lohit district has been home to various tribes of Arunachal Pradesh since time immemorial”, he added that “all the tribes have been residing in the district in peace and harmony.” The Indigenous Flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest, followed by lighting of the lamp in front of the portraits of indigenous Gods and offering of prayers by the priests of various communities. The IFCSAP calendar was also launched in the event. Various tribes of the district showcased their cultures in a colourful programme. The programme concluded with a prayer song by Amik/Ringya (Tanchow/Klumya) group.

The programme was organized by the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) Tezu and was attended by SP Tezu, D.W. Thongon and all the HODs, participants from all the tribes inhabiting in the district.
