BORDUMSA: “I have my family members married to Adivasi people and have been enjoying the unconditional love, sympathy and attachment of the Adivasi community for more than a decade here in Changlang and Namsai districts of Arunachal Pradesh”, said Bordumsa MLA Somlung Mossang during his address as the special guest on the occasion of the Karam Festival that culminated here this morning at Karam Akhra at Old Mohong under Lekang circle of Namsai district.
The three-day long harvest festival was organized by the All Adivasi Student Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (AASAAP).
Appreciating the rich culture, traditions and simplicity of the Adivasi people, Mossang affirmed his appreciation for the people irrespective of jurisdiction and said “Adivasi people cutting across territorial differences occupy the best part of my heart”.
Besides exhibiting traditional folk dances by the various clans of the Adivasi people of Changlang and Namasai districts, there were exhibition stalls depicting the successful leaders of the community including the Adivasi IAS officer, Adivasi woman pilot, politicians, Adivasi freedom fighters, musician and scholars, models and fashion designers, etc.
