KHONSA: A massive cleanliness drive against plastic under the aegis of the Prime Minister Flagship ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ (SHS) campaign was organized by the Khonsa Bazar Welfare Committee (KBWC) in collaboration with DUDA, Tirap District with a theme of “No to Plastic – Yes to sustainable Development” on Sunday.
While administering the pledge on the occasion, Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Khonsa town-cum-KBWC president Jiten Wangchha said that SHS and SBM are nationwide programmes and urged every individual to keep his surroundings neat and clean.
Wangchha also assured that KBWC would extend full cooperation to the district administration, District Tobacco Control Cell, District Police to successfully stop use of plastic polythene, sale of tobacco products and any other intoxicating substances within a radius of 100 meters from educational institutions. He also warned all shopkeepers to restrain from such practice.
