ITANAGAR: Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Nyato Dukam, inaugurated a five-day Training of Trainers (ToT) in Pedagogy, marking a significant milestone in enhancing vocational education and teaching standards in Arunachal Pradesh.
Organized by the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Ce2ntral Staff Training and Research Institute (CSTARI), Kolkata, this initiative is the first-ever off-campus training of CSTARI in Arunachal Pradesh. The program includes 22 instructors, including six women instructors, from various ITIs across the state.
In his address, Minister Dukam emphasized the importance of modernizing teaching methodologies to meet industry demands, particularly for ITI trainees. He highlighted the growing need for skills in emerging technologies and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a robust skilling ecosystem.
Additionally, he stressed the significance of promoting entrepreneurship and employment generation.
The Minister acknowledged the vital role of CSTARI, Kolkata, and the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), Dasnagar Howrah, in enhancing instructor training. He underscored the need for ITI instructors to motivate trainees toward self-employment in specialized trades, reducing dependence on government jobs.
Expressing his vision for broader exposure, he encouraged trainers to implement best practices from other states in Arunachal Pradesh.
Commissioner of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Saugat Biswas, hailed this milestone as a transformative step in modernizing skilling techniques. He praised CSTARI’s comprehensive training programs and advanced facilities, ensuring instructors are equipped to meet industry standards.
Expressing gratitude to CSTARI for its contributions, he reaffirmed the commitment to elevating vocational education in the region. Commissioner Biswas further elaborated on initiatives taken in the current financial year to upskill ITI faculty. These include sending instructors to CSTARI, Kolkata, for Employability Skill training and training Group Instructors under the Organizational Managing Training Institute.
