Itanagar: Police have cracked a clueless accident, and a hit and run case and arrested one accused in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Siang district, an official said. The accused, identified as 40-year-old Mige Loya, is a resident of PI Colony at Aalo, West Siang district SSP Tumme Amo said.
On November 30 last, police received information from one Neyang Galing that a dead body of a man was found at PI Colony, near Siang Gas Agency at around 10 pm. The following day, a written FIR was filed by sub-inspector Manthan Chithan at Aalo police station and conducted an enquiry at the hospital where doctors declared the deceased as brought dead. The SSP said the deceased had a severe injury on his forehead. During enquiry, police found that the deceased was hit by a vehicle, who ran away from the spot after hitting the deceased, Amo said.
The SSP said a case was registered and was endorsed to sub-inspector Likha John. The deceased was later identified as 32-year-old Gumli Ete, son of head constable Hengum Ete of Darka village in the district, police said.
With intelligence inputs and technical assistance, the vehicle involved in the accident was identified and the driver was arrested, the SSP added.
