ITANAGAR: In a move to enhance the effectiveness of legislative proceedings, the Rules Committee of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Tuesday convened its first sitting under the chairmanship of Speaker Tesam Pongte. The committee proposed several key amendments aimed at making the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business more practical, clear, and efficient. The proposals focused on adding relevant clauses and eliminating provisions that were found to be impracticable, marking a major step toward streamlining legislative operations in the state. The Legislative Assembly secretary outlined the agenda while the speaker welcomed all members, including the secretary, officers, and officials of the Assembly Secretariat.

The in-depth deliberations on the comprehensive study book of rules reflect a committed effort to modernise legislative procedures and improve the conduct of business in the house, an official statement said.
