Teachers Felicitated In Tawang By MLA Tsering Tashi At Kalawangpo Convention Hall

ITANAGAR: On the occasion of Teachers' Day, the teaching fraternity of Tawang was felicitated by local MLA Tsering Tashi at Kalawangpo convention hall on Thursday. A similar felicitation programme to all teachers was also conducted at Lungla for teachers of Lungla Sub division by Lungla MLA Jambey Tashi and by family members of Chief Minister Pema Khandu at Jang. At Tawang headquarters, the programme began with paying floral tribute to the portrait of Dr S Radhakrishnan and by paying floral tributes to one of the senior teachers late Pema Yeshi Gyamo, who died recently, an official communiqué informed. Besides Tsering Tashi as the chief host, Tawang DC Sang Phuntsok, Commander 190 Mtn Brigade, Brigadier Zubin Bhatnagar, Commandant 38th Bn SSB Rajesh Thakur, SP S S Kalsi and other galaxy of officers and public leaders were present on the occasion to give their best wishes to the teachers.

Tashi said, “there is no any other profession for which a particular day is dedicated and where all section of society is involved in celebration, to support the cause of teachers is our responsibility.”

“Sincere and dedicated teachers ensure secured and disciplined future citizens. Today I will not discuss about the role and responsibilities of teachers, because it is you who teach us about our role and responsibilities,” Tashi said.

The MLA further said that he would discuss the problems being faced by teachers with the chief minister and assured for construction of a guest house for teachers at Tawang.

Addressing the teachers the DC said, “The way we celebrate Teachers' Day in such a grand way itself shows that our Chief Minister and MLAs are seriously and sincerely concerned for education”.

“Teaching is one of the most noble profession and if there is no criminals in society, credit must be given to teachers,” he added.

Earlier Tashi felicitated two teachers namely Lobsang Wangmu TGT and Tashi Neema PRT for being selected for State Awards, the communiqué added.
