Two Youth Arrested By Bordumsa Police On Rape Charges

BORDUMSA: A team of Bordumsa police in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday arrested two youths of the nearby Madhapur area in Tinsukia district of Upper Assam on rape charges. According to sources, the youths belonging to Gorkha community allegedly rapped a girl hailing from one of the Singpho villages of Bordumsa circle on Tuesday night. A relative of the victim on condition of anonymity said that the victim had gone to attend a birthday party in a nearby village and was waiting for her friends along the road when the ‘crime’ was committed by the duo. Confirming the incident, Changlang Superintendent of Police Romil Baniya said that the two accused in the case have been arrested and have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC. Earlier, on Wednesday morning, the victim herself had approached the local police station and lodged an FIR to this effect.
