Dibrugarh: The 10-day annual training camp for 2018-19 of 10 Assam Battalion NCC, Dibrugarh, started here at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School from Thursday under the aegis of group headquarters NCC. The aim of the camp is to develop character, camaraderie, discipline, leadership qualities, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless sacrifice amongst the participating cadets. The camp will also cater to career counselling to the cadets and personality development.
Emphasis will be given during the camp on physical fitness, yoga, drill, weapon training, map reading, specialized military subjects and cultural development. Special emphasis will also be given on Swachh Bharat Mission with cadets carrying out a special march through Dibrugarh town to motivate the community on the aspects of cleanliness.
The commanding officer of the 10 Assam Battalion NCC, Dibrugarh, Colonel Joydeep Goswami, earlier welcomed over 500 NCC cadets from 45 schools and colleges from the districts of Dibrugarh , Sivsagarh, Tinsukia and Charaideo. Colonel Goswami, while motivating the cadets, urged them to put in their best foot forward and participate whole heartedly in all the camp activities.
