NAGAON: A 15-day summer cultural camp organized by Sur Sadhana, a music institution, came to an end on Tuesday. The camp, which started on July 1, was a part of the institution’s 24-year-long journey of music education and promotion.

During the camp, students were exposed to various genres of music, including classical music, gazals, children’s songs, Sanskrit songs, modern Assamese songs, Borgeet, Bhajan, Rabindra Sangeet, and Kamrupi folk songs. The instructors included Guru Pradyut Mishra, Ariful Hoque, Mandeep Mahanta, Jatindra Nath Mahanta, Suwagmoni Mahanta, Swabanam Meghali, and Birina Pathak.

The camp also included a quiz competition on music, which was conducted by Biswajit Borah. On the final day of the camp, the students showcased their learning by performing songs in front of their teachers and parents.

The concluding ceremony was presided over by Nava Kumar Mahanta, president of Sur Sadhana. The parents expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the institution’s management and faculty members, particularly Suwagmoni Mahanta, for their efforts in conducting the camp. They also appreciated Atul Mahanta’s tabla accompaniment during the performances.
