DIBRUGARH: Seventeen specially-abled persons were given assistive aids and equipment in a programme organized by Saksham, Dibrugarh, on Wednesday. An assessment camp was earlier organized in Dibrugarh where a total of 58 beneficiaries were selected.
“Today, 17 beneficiaries who are specially-abled persons have been given assistive aids and equipment. An assessment camp was organized in Dibrugarh a few months back and a total of 58 beneficiaries were selected in the camp. Out of them, 17 beneficiaries were distributed the aid and equipment today,” said Shymal Chakraborty, Secretary of Saksham, Dibrugarh. He added, “In the next phase, equipment will be distributed among more beneficiaries.” State Cabinet Minister and Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan, DMC Mayor Saikat Patra, Manoj Tamuli, Uttar Assam Prant President, Rajib Lochan Sharma, Saksham, Dibrugarh District President, and Dibrugarh District Social Welfare Officer Prasanta Borah were present during the programme.
