DEMOW: Around 19 vultures were found dead and 13 vultures which were sick were rescued by the forest department on Tuesday at Desangmukh Lapai Gaon near Demow in Sivasagar district under Desangmukh Forest Beat Office. According to sources, the carcass of a cow was found near the place where the vultures had died. It is suspected that the vultures died of poisoning after consuming the decaying flesh of the cow. The local people informed the Forest Office.
