Dibrugarh: Assam State Power Workers’ Union (ASPWU) continued working towards making the call for a 48-hour strike by All India Power-Engineers Coordinating Committee a success on its second day on Wednesday.
The strike will continue till 6 am on Thursday. The members of ASPWU staged a protest in front of the office of APDCL here, and aired their voice against the Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2018, for its alleged anti-labour content.
They also demanded making the contractual employees permanent and introducing additional posts in keeping with the work load. They also protested against the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
