56th Raising Day of the Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army Held in Tezpur

Tezpur: The Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army on Thursday celebrated its 56th Raising Day at a function held at the headquarters in Tezpur. The Gajraj Corps was raised by Lt Gen B M Kaul at Tezpur on October 4, 1962 in the midst of the Indo-China conflict. On this occasion, Lt Gen G S Sangha, SM, VSM, GOC Gajraj Corps paid homage to martyrs during a wreath-laying ceremony and complimented all personnel for their dedication and devotion beyond the call of duty while serving in counter-insurgency areas of Assam as well as in the inclement weather and remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh, besides aiding civil population in the hours of need.
