72 people donate plasma at Assam Medical College and Hospital auditorium

DIBRUGARH: Plasma donation camp, organized by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in association with National Health Mission (NHM) and Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) at AMCH auditorium on Friday, concluded with collection of plasma from 72 people of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts. The meeting organized on the occasion was attended by Union Minister of State (Ind) for Food Processing Industries, Rameswar Teli, Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan, president of District BJP, Jagadish Raj Konwar, health officials of AMCH and other dignitaries.

Vice-president of District BJP and convener of Plasma Donation Camp, Dr Saikat Patra highly lauded all 72 people who had voluntarily donated their plasma to save other human beings from the grip of coronavirus, which he said was a 'unique gesture of humanity'.

Union Minister Rameswar Teli and MLA Dibrugarh, Prasanta Phukan felicitated all the plasma donors with traditional gamosa as a mark of respect for their plasma donation act. Minister Teli in his deliberation spoke at length on the necessity of plasma in the treatment of corona-infected patients.
