DIBRUGARH: Assam Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Dr BC Deka paid a visit to the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dibrugarh on Tuesday. During his visit he was given a warm welcome by the senior scientist and head of the kendra Dr. Diganta Sharmah. During his visit Dr. B.C. Deka took stock of the situation of progress made by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dibrugarh for the betterment of farming community in the district. He also interacted with all the scientists of the Kendra and discussed about their progress of works meant for the welfare of farmers in the district and expressed his satisfaction over their progress. Dr Deka urged the entire scientist community to work more prudently in the field of agriculture and allied field so that it paves way for doubling the income of farmers in the district on a sustainable basis.
Vice Chancellor, Deka also visited the different demonstration units of suitable improved technologies of KVK. While interacting with The Sentinel, Dr.Hemchandra Saikia, Scientist of the kendra informed that the very purpose of this visit of Dr. B. C Deka is to know the activities of KVK Dibrugarh meant for the farming community, whether it is proceeding in right direction and also to encourage the scientist community for enhancing their working efficiency for the betterment of farming community.
