KOKRAJHAR: A delegation from the All-Bodo Students Union (ABSU) called on the Vice-Chancellor of Bodoland University (BU) on Thursday to discuss academic and administrative challenges aimed at enhancing the institution’s overall development.
During the meeting, the ABSU delegation highlighted several key concerns, including faculty recruitment urging the university to fill 34 vacant teaching positions, including Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors, appointment of non-teaching staff, advocating for the sanctioning of 59 non-teaching staff to improve administrative efficiency, and Udalguri campus development with immediate start of the academic session at the proposed Bodoland University’s Udalguri campus.
The other key issues are timely examinations and result declaration, stressing the need to conduct examinations on time and declare results without delay to protect students’ academic progress, and university infrastructure development, emphasizing the necessity of upgrading facilities to create a better learning environment.
The ABSU delegation, led by President Dipen Boro, and General Secretary Khanindra Basumatary, along with members of the Bodoland University Students Union and Bodoland University ABSU Unit, emphasized the urgency of addressing these issues.
