JAGIROAD: The election of the Jagiroad College Students’ Union was held on Wednesday. The election was held for eight positions where six candidates supported by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) won. Amongst the AGVP supported six candidates, two won uncontested. On the other hand, one from AASU and one NSUI- supported candidate won the election. The elected AGVP supported candidates are president Nayanjyoti Boro, vice-president Biswajit Das, general secretary Pranjal Dutta and assistant general secretary Mriganka Deka. On the other hand, the vice-president of Jagiroad AASU, Kangkon Konwar was allegedly beaten by some opponents and he sustained head injury. The incident caused sensation in the area.
